Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join a well-established civil engineering contractor focused on a major UK infrastructure project. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of the project, collaborating closely with the project, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed construction programmes.
- Produce programmes covering civil engineering aspects.
- Monitor project progress against baseline plans and identify delays.
- Collaborate with project managers, site agents, and engineers.
- Review methodology, sequencing, and buildability of construction plans.
- Conduct critical path analysis and assess programme risks.
- Generate progress reports and look-ahead schedules.
- Participate in project and client meetings to discuss progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner or involved in construction planning specifically within civil engineering.
- Strong background in major infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects.
- Expertise in planning processes for earthworks, groundworks, piling, and reinforced concrete structures.
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies.
- Experience in developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with site and commercial teams.
- Preferred experience working for a civil engineering contractor.
