Overview
The Senior Planner will play a crucial role in supporting a range of live and pre-construction projects within a leading construction and engineering contractor. This position offers an experienced planner the opportunity to work autonomously while closely collaborating with project, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes through effective planning and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain project programmes using industry-standard planning software.
- Support tender and pre-construction planning activities, including methodology and sequencing.
- Monitor progress, analyse delays, and report variances against baseline programmes.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure accurate reporting and realistic forecasting.
- Provide planning input for change management, risk reviews, and mitigation strategies.
- Prepare clear planning reports, dashboards, and programme narratives for internal and client use.
- Attend site visits and progress meetings as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner within construction, engineering, or infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project).
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing and project lifecycles.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- Able to manage workload independently and deliver to deadlines.
- Immediately available or available at short notice is advantageous.
