Overview
The Senior Project Manager will lead complex technology projects within the financial services sector, focusing on governance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborating with an offshore delivery lead based in India, this role will involve significant stakeholder engagement and the management of third-party suppliers. The position requires immediate availability and is intended for a professional with extensive experience in project delivery management.
Responsibilities
- Own governance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain strong relationships and ensure effective communication with stakeholders and customers.
- Collaborate with an offshore delivery lead to meet project delivery commitments.
- Manage third-party suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large and complex projects, ensuring financial control and cost awareness.
- Adapt delivery methodologies between Waterfall and Agile based on project needs.
- Oversee application and infrastructure workstreams, including application decommissioning activities.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in project delivery management within the Financial Services sector.
- Proven track record in risk management and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a history of avoiding client escalations.
- Experience managing major programmes involving both application and infrastructure delivery.
- Strong financial and cost management skills with the ability to produce realistic estimates.
- Understanding of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers effectively.
- Formal Project Management certifications (e.g., MSP, MoP, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent) are desirable.
