Overview
We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead a critical engineering and AI transformation project, working closely with the Head of Development. This role involves direct engagement with development teams, focusing on enhancing engineering maturity and delivery performance. The contractor will play a vital role in coaching engineers, implementing AI strategies, and establishing standards within a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a hands-on engineering transformation to improve standards and delivery disciplines.
- Establish a product-oriented engineering function with clearer ownership and accountability.
- Enhance delivery predictability, software quality, and cycle time.
- Coach engineers while actively contributing to technical delivery efforts.
- Assess current architecture and practices, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Define and implement an AI engineering framework.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading software engineering or technology transformation in complex organizations.
- Strong background in modern software engineering and technical governance.
- Proven track record of improving engineering maturity and delivery practices.
- Ability to work closely with senior technology stakeholders and influence decisions.
- Experience coaching engineering teams in capability enhancement.
- Practical experience with AI engineering and GenAI-enabled development.
- Understanding of moving AI prototypes into secure production environments.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, capable of challenging existing approaches.
