Overview
We are seeking a Senior Go Platform Engineer to join a dynamic platform team on a 6-month contract. In this hands-on role, the contractor will be responsible for building a new single-tenant, cloud-agnostic platform from the ground up, focusing on writing code and handling operational aspects. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact by contributing directly to the architecture and functionality of the platform.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Go services, CLIs, and workers.
- Implement Kubernetes deployment patterns.
- Write and maintain Helm charts.
- Support Terraform and other infrastructure work as needed.
- Build health checks, smoke tests, and operational diagnostics.
- Collaborate closely with QA to enhance test automation.
- Write clear, usable runbooks.
- Work with the wider engineering team to ensure platform reliability.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Go programming language.
- Experience in managing services end-to-end and ensuring production reliability.
- Familiarity with cloud-agnostic or multi-cloud setups.
- Interest in operational aspects of platform engineering.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
- Understanding of Terraform and infrastructure management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an engineering team.
