Technical Implementation Manager

Overview

The Technical Implementation Manager will play a crucial role in a major UK-wide business transformation programme, focusing on the migration of operational sites to a new enterprise technology platform. Working closely with operational and technology teams, the contractor will engage in data discovery, migration readiness, solution testing, and implementation planning. As implementation progresses, they will provide support and become a key subject matter expert, ensuring successful go-lives and ongoing application support across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support data discovery, validation, and migration readiness ahead of rollout.
  • Understand system configuration, integrations, and operational processes associated with the platform.
  • Facilitate solution testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation readiness.
  • Plan and coordinate technology deployments across multiple UK sites.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, technology partners, and third-party suppliers during implementation.
  • Provide on-site support during go-live and deliver hands-on hypercare/application support.
  • Manage implementation plans, including risks, issues, and dependencies until successful handover to business as usual (BAU).

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technology implementation, application support, systems delivery, or hypercare.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a desire to understand applications end-to-end.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications in live operational environments.
  • Familiarity with SaaS, ERP, POS, or similar operational/business applications.
  • Exposure to data discovery, migration, validation, or cleansing processes.
  • Experience in supporting testing, UAT, and resolving post-implementation issues.
  • Effective stakeholder and supplier management skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK during rollout phases.
