Overview
We are looking for an experienced User Researcher to join our team on a 12-month contract basis. The role will involve planning, conducting, and analyzing user research activities, primarily in field settings, to inform service and product design. The successful candidate will work closely with users to gather qualitative insights while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a flexible, remote-first environment that includes regular in-person meetings.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct user research activities in various environments.
- Engage with users to gather qualitative insights.
- Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate user feedback into the development process.
- Present research findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage and report on user research activities independently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in user research, especially in fieldwork settings.
- Strong knowledge of qualitative research methods such as interviews and usability testing.
- Experience within government or Government Digital Service (GDS) environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyze research data and present findings effectively.
- Familiarity with user research tools and reporting software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing your own schedule and working independently.
