Overview
The Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure for a large global organization. This position involves providing 3rd line technical support, contributing to infrastructure projects, and ensuring the efficient operation of systems including Windows Server, VMware, Intune, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365. The contractor will work closely with the infrastructure team and will be required to be onsite in Sunderland a minimum of two days per week.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 3rd Line support across infrastructure, networking, and end-user computing environments.
- Manage and support core technologies including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Intune, Okta, and IAM.
- Troubleshoot and maintain server, cloud, virtualization, and Microsoft-based infrastructure.
- Contribute to infrastructure projects, migrations, technical documentation, and service improvements.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Windows Server up to version 2022/2025.
- Experience with VMware is preferred, but Hyper-V will be considered.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft 365, including Intune and SCCM.
- Strong background in 3rd line infrastructure support.
- Basic networking knowledge, ideally with firewall experience.
- Knowledge of Entra ID and/or Okta is desirable.
