Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interaction Designer to join a government digital delivery team on a remote basis. The contractor will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to design user-centred interactions that facilitate efficient citizen task completion while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and the GDS Service Standard.
Responsibilities
- Design simple, accessible, user-centred interactions for digital services.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to shape end-to-end user journeys.
- Create intuitive interfaces that enhance user experience.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and interaction flows using modern design tools.
- Ensure services meet GDS Service Standard and accessibility requirements.
- Communicate design decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work in an Agile environment to iterate and improve designs.
Requirements
- Strong experience in designing digital interactions for user-centred services.
- Proven ability to work with the GOV.UK Design System.
- Familiarity with the GDS Service Standard and accessibility requirements.
- Proficiency in using modern design tools for wireframing and prototyping.
- Strong communication skills for explaining design decisions clearly.
- Experience collaborating within Agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
