Overview
As a Lead Technology Consultant focused on data platforms, you will serve as the technical lead for a client project, collaborating closely with a small engineering team and client stakeholders. Your role involves taking ownership of the technical solution and ensuring high standards in engineering practices while navigating the complexities of project management. This is a fully remote position that allows for a significant degree of autonomy and responsibility in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical solution and architecture for client data platform projects.
- Participate in daily stand-ups to challenge and validate technical decisions.
- Set and enforce engineering standards, including release processes and platform security.
- Identify risks early, remove blockers, and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Act as the primary technical contact for clients, setting clear expectations.
- Ensure solutions are maintainable and supported long-term through managed services.
- Provide clear and concise reporting to internal teams and clients.
Requirements
- Strong background as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Lead Consultant on data or cloud platform projects.
- Expertise in modern cloud data architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Experience working in regulated environments with a focus on security and governance.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive in managing tasks.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving consultancy or start-up settings.
- Familiarity with Databricks and experience in the insurance, reinsurance, or financial services sector would be advantageous.
