Overview
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the technical ownership of the customer's security infrastructure as part of the DCE Programme, focusing on data centre network build. The role involves working primarily remotely with potential travel to customer sites, providing senior technical guidance on security projects and managing life cycle processes, while collaborating with vendor support for incidents related to the security infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical ownership of the customer's security infrastructure estate and documentation management.
- Act as a senior technical reference for all security-related projects and changes.
- Lead changes to firewall rule bases and provide support for physical and remote modifications.
- Design customer networks, including development of high-level and low-level designs.
- Manage customer inventory for hardware and software components.
- Collaborate with vendor support on incident management related to security infrastructure.
- Ensure effective change management processes are followed.
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance and BPSS required.
- Hands-on experience with F5, Zscaler, and Palo Alto technologies.
- Understanding of Checkpoint, Juniper, Bluecoat, VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN, DMVPN) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Cisco networking solutions, including major switching families.
- Familiarity with Wireless Technologies, QoS, and Inflobox DNS is preferred.
