Overview
The Platform Engineer will focus on shaping and maintaining a secure and resilient Azure cloud platform for a leading software product. Working in a collaborative engineering team, the engineer will be responsible for ensuring the platform is scalable and supports the rapid delivery of new features by product engineering teams. This role emphasizes the use of automation, cloud best practices, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain the Azure platform.
- Drive platform automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Manage cloud networking, identity, security and governance.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Monitor platform health, performance and availability.
- Optimise cloud infrastructure for resilience, scalability and cost.
- Work closely with development teams to provide a reliable, secure and high-performing platform.
- Champion cloud best practice and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience building and supporting enterprise Azure platforms.
- Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD.
- Strong understanding of networking, identity and security within Azure.
- Experience with monitoring, observability and platform performance.
- Passion for automation and modern platform engineering.
- Previous experience supporting SaaS or software product environments would be advantageous.
