Overview
The Python Software Engineer will contribute to projects designed to enhance the company's hiring efficiency by developing tools for streamlining the acquisition funnel. Working within a dynamic and technical environment, the role focuses on large-scale system design, migration processes, and optimizing backend operations. The Engineer will collaborate with relevant stakeholders and guide teams through complex technical challenges, ensuring high code quality and system reliability.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to reducing cost per hire by building automation tools and migration strategies.
- Develop, test, and optimize backend APIs using RESTful and GraphQL standards.
- Lead the decommissioning of Rails monolith components, ensuring smooth transition.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify technical improvements.
- Maintain and enhance backend integrations with third-party systems.
- Drive code quality through regular reviews and adherence to best practices.
- Create comprehensive documentation for system architecture and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Relevant experience in Software Engineering using Python/Django, Ruby on Rails, Java, or Rust.
- Demonstrated polyglot programming ability and willingness to adapt to new code bases.
- Experience with React frontend development, database design (Postgres, MySQL, Redis).
- Ability to leverage coding agents and AI advancements to improve delivery efficiency.
- Experience with API development, system migration, and code reviews.
- Ability to work remotely during the contract period.
