Overview
The Quality Inspections Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful construction of a solar farm by engaging in field surveillance and quality inspections. This position involves collaborating with the quality assurance and project management teams to adhere to supplier specifications, track materials, and maintain essential documentation. The contractor will be expected to start immediately and will work on-site for a minimum of six months, following a standard eight-hour workday, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of ramming, structures, modules, and cabling on-site.
- Verify adherence to manuals, including torque marks and cable management as per supplier specifications.
- Ensure proper material traceability for all components on-site.
- Assist in compiling the 'Technical Memory' and managing checklists and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Identify and report any technical issues or 'Red Flags' to QA/QC Manager and Project Manager promptly.
- Maintain site records and manage material tracking accurately.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or higher in a relevant field.
- Proven recent experience in large-scale solar PV construction within a quality assurance role.
- Strong ability to interpret technical specifications and construction drawings.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Methodical approach to site record management and material tracking.
- Proficiency in English is mandatory; Spanish and German skills are valued.
- Valid UK site access certifications (CSCS or equivalent) required.
