Overview
The Senior Authorised Person will play a crucial role in a significant 132kV cable and substation project, ensuring electrical safety and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with a major power infrastructure contractor, the successful candidate will oversee high voltage cable installation and commissioning activities, providing expert guidance during testing and operational switching. This long-term contract opportunity focuses on advancing underground cable circuits into a GIS substation environment.
Responsibilities
- Control electrical safety throughout the project.
- Support HV cable installation and jointing activities.
- Lead SAP duties during HV testing and commissioning.
- Manage switching operations, isolations, permits, and safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NGED electrical safety rules.
Requirements
- 132kV Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation.
- NGED SAP authorisation is highly desirable.
- Proven experience on HV cable and substation projects.
- GIS substation experience.
- HV switching and isolation experience.
- Permit-to-Work and Sanction for Test experience.
- Previous experience supporting cable installation, jointing, testing, and energisation.
