Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Shopify Developer to join a dynamic team contributing to the digital commerce landscape. The contractor will work closely with the Client Onboarding Team to develop and customize Shopify storefronts for new brands, as well as collaborate with the Digital Innovation Team to implement broader technical initiatives. This position allows for a high degree of ownership and the chance to influence solutions that extend beyond standard Shopify development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance bespoke Shopify themes using Liquid, JavaScript, and modern CSS.
- Build sophisticated storefront functionality, including AJAX cart experiences and custom filtering.
- Improve site speed, mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility.
- Extend Shopify capabilities through technologies such as Checkout Extensibility and Shopify Functions.
- Investigate and resolve frontend and theme-related issues efficiently.
- Work with Git and Shopify CLI to maintain development workflows and manage deployments.
- Translate design concepts into polished, responsive user interfaces.
- Integrate Shopify applications, third-party services, and external APIs as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Shopify Developer with expertise in Liquid, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce principles and best practices.
- Experience in developing responsive and accessible user interfaces.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Knowledge of Shopify Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, and Shopify Flow.
- Ability to troubleshoot frontend issues and optimize website performance.
- Experience integrating third-party applications and APIs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to evolving project requirements.
