Overview
We are seeking a skilled Solutions Architect to spearhead a significant customer ordering and fulfillment transformation project. The contractor will collaborate with engineering teams and delivery partners to create a comprehensive architecture that integrates commerce, CRM, order management, fulfillment, and billing platforms. This role involves defining system responsibilities, leading workshops with stakeholders, and producing essential documentation to ensure a successful implementation.
Responsibilities
- Review existing systems and define the target architecture.
- Design the end-to-end customer order journey, including fulfillment, activation, and billing.
- Establish system responsibilities and ownership of customer, product, and order data.
- Assess third-party platforms and recommend whether to buy, configure, reuse, or build solutions.
- Define integrations using APIs, events, messaging, and workflow orchestration.
- Produce architecture documentation, key decisions, and a phased delivery roadmap.
- Lead workshops with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and external partners.
Requirements
- Strong Solution Architecture experience across complex business systems.
- Previous delivery of commerce, order management, or fulfillment solutions.
- Experience integrating different CRM platforms, including Salesforce, with wider enterprise systems.
- Ability to evaluate platform options and explain technical and commercial trade-offs.
- Experience designing reliable cross-system processes, including failure handling and reconciliation.
- Confident stakeholder communication and practical architecture documentation.
