Overview
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to oversee Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards on a high-profile Data Centre construction project. The successful candidate will provide support to project teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards. This role will require close collaboration with site management and various stakeholders to foster a positive safety culture and ensure that project objectives are met effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day SHEQ support and guidance to project teams and subcontractors.
- Monitor site compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
- Review and support Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and permit systems.
- Lead investigations into incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Support client SHEQ requirements and reporting processes.
- Drive a positive safety culture throughout the project.
- Liaise with site management and stakeholders to ensure best practices are maintained.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a SHEQ Advisor in construction or infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge or qualifications in NRSWA / Street Works.
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and their application on major projects.
- Experience overseeing road excavations, street works, and utility activities.
- Understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
