Overview
The Network Engineer will play a critical role in supporting a leading telecommunications client by configuring essential networking equipment and ensuring the stability of the network infrastructure. This position requires immediate availability and encompasses remote work with some travel to various sites in the West Midlands and Southern regions. An active Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory for this contract role.
Responsibilities
- Configure routers and switches according to network design documentation.
- Racking and stacking network devices within data centers.
- Demonstrate strong experience with Cisco LAN and Wireless LAN technologies.
- Ensure adherence to networking best practices, including switching and IP addressing.
- Utilize expert-level knowledge of Cisco routers and switches, particularly platforms such as Cisco 3850, Cisco Nexus 9K, Cisco ISR, and Cisco ASR.
- Collaborate within enterprise or telecoms network environments to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
- Active SC clearance is essential for this position.
- Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies.
- Immediate or near-immediate availability for contract start.
- Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience in enterprise or telecom network environments is advantageous.
- Proficiency in network design documentation interpretation.
