Overview
This role as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer offers the opportunity to work within a highly secure Defence environment, focusing on the build and deployment of complex infrastructure systems. The contractor will collaborate with other infrastructure engineers and architects to configure, harden, and optimize the physical and virtual infrastructure stack, ensuring compliance with stringent security standards. This hands-on position is suitable for individuals adept at directly implementing and managing networking, storage, and virtualisation technologies.
Responsibilities
- Configure and harden Cisco Nexus Leaf/Spine network infrastructure.
- Initialize and manage NetApp storage, including data-at-rest encryption.
- Build and secure Hyper-V clusters for core services like AD, DNS, and PKI.
- Support the integration and enablement of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
- Work with HSM/KMS appliances and hardware-based cryptographic systems.
- Participate in key management and key ceremony activities.
- Build and configure Windows Server 2022/2025 environments.
- Complete physical infrastructure installations, including rack-and-stack and secure cabling.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Cisco Nexus or similar enterprise networking technologies.
- Proficiency in NetApp ONTAP or comparable enterprise storage systems.
- Experience in deploying Hyper-V in highly available environments.
- Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation, preferably VCF 5+.
- Detailed knowledge of Windows Server 2022/2025.
- Understanding of Active Directory (AD), DNS, and PKI.
- Experience in delivering physical infrastructure, including rack-and-stack and proper cabling.
- Active DV Clearance is required for this role.
